A handbuilt sculptural bowl exploring the relationship between the parts of ourselves that feel weathered and those that still hold warmth.

Deeply carved charcoal ridges move across one side of the bowl, meeting a bronze-toned surface marked by subtle variations and traces of making. The contrast recalls a landscape shaped over time: rough ground giving way to somewhere quieter, with neither surface losing its identity.

Its open, gently uneven form carries a sense of welcome. A bowl is a familiar shape associated with holding and gathering. Here, that familiarity becomes an invitation to consider what we carry within us—memories, responsibilities and the feelings we rarely put into words.

The textures remain visible inside the vessel. They suggest that finding stillness does not require us to smooth away everything we have experienced. Roughness and warmth can exist together.

Displayed alone, The Quiet Between offers a quiet focal point, revealing its carved detail and shifting mineral tones as the light moves across it.
